Opened the shop this morning till mid day and then shot through to the beach
for some more R n R . Spent about 3 hours on the sand and got these two silvers and $8.60.
Surprisingly the lead bullet seems to be unfired.

Nice couple of rings there.

I've found a few bullets that haven't hit their target (ie mushroomed), the latest was probably about the same calibre and i would think the rifling marks may have worn off with sea-action. Mine came out of a nice squashy swamp and had minimal rifling.

Alternatively, if it was one of the southern North Shore beaches, it's possible the cartridge has long since parted company from a once live round...

Great stuff MK. Just love finding those old bullets, especially the unfired ones. Not easy to find down this way either.........tend to find more pistol and musket balls, so to get an unfired three ringer is a pretty special find............so well done.

Nice one Metalkiwi. The silvers look like a matching pair.
