I was cleaning out the years worth of pennys and remembered i had an inidentified penny, turns out to be a georgvis II coins, opps, so please check before you disgard.

Nope the dates worn off completly however a little research leads to the coin being made 1723 - 1760 ish, be nice if so.

First 1700's penny I have seen from Auckland.

I've got a reasonable nick 1756 if you want some pics to help id any particular features, although there's probably much better examples in GoogleLand

i did this just recently. my dad was in aus and bought back some gem & treasure mags for me to read- i saw an article on coin collecting in it and some pics of coins- upon looking i discovered 1 of the old coins i have is a 1909 gold sovereign!- so i had some gold and didnt even realize.

ive only looked for nuggets not really coins, i cant believe i missed the coin was gold- the weight alone should have given it away, i have gone through the rest of the coins now and sorted them into bags of the same type, there are some odd ball ones but nothing like the old one at the start of this post- cheers you may have inspired a new direction for my metal detecting!
