Dont know if anybody has noticed but Little Hagley has been shorn to within a couple of inches of its life after having looked like a jungle for months now so I'm gonna have a go at it after work tonight if anybody id interested.

My greatest fear is that when I die my wife will sell my collection for what I told her it cost me.

Funny you should say......I was there last night after work (unexpected release from household duty!) and although the grass has been cut, it has not been catcher-collected, therefore there are big lumps of grass all over the show, and long flattened tufts everywhere. All in all, it's still fairly hard going. Was there for about two hours and only scored one threepence and a small silver cuff stud....and assorted junk.
Will try to get there again tonight but can't promise it.

if your going to hit little hagley hit it hardest up at the main corner..i think it is called Carleton corner...I have heard from some pretty old guys that back in the day there have been a few sovs found there with the old machines..so I am thinking the new machines should do better...total found so I have been told was 9 or 10...but could very well be more there.

Nope. Some musket balls, some early English copper coins but not a hint of silver. Waste of time I guess.

They sound like good finds and of the right era. Bound to be a sov in amongst them somewhere.
