hi to all in nz,great day today for a detect on the beach had a strange gold find a ring marked 8ct never heard of 8ct before apparently common in germany in the 1950s but only britain and the commonwealth had ct ,so i tested it with the gold kit i have 9ct test was good 14ct test was good 18 then 22 all saying it was good high carat gold so anybody guess what it is the markings are 8ctLN i-j probably makers mark, maybe its a gift out of a cornflake box!!!. and here is what a 1918 commonwealth penny looks like when its been in the sea for a few years cheers roy
