Gidday folks

Hard case fella trying to sell a Fisher Pinpointer on Trademe for $120. Told him good luck as they sell in NZ for $60. By the way, those folks who do have one of these, there is a youtube video on how to modify them by adjusting their sensitivity. Increases the pick up by about 1/2 an inch which pretty much doubles the range of these things. Might try it on mine then see. Can't get past my Propointer though.

Yep, I did that to mine. I was quite disappointed when mine arrived, kinda felt gutted that I didn't buy a Garrett PP. But, the Fisher one now works really good.. The only issue I have is having to turn it on and get the dial in the sone each use, and then bumping it in the hole and re-tuning it.

Oh, and the battery cover. It doesn't stay on well.

I wouldn't buy another one, but I'll happily use this one until it dies then upgrade.

from someone who knows absolutely nothing about detecting. what is a pinpointer used for. I take it they don't have much of a range so aren't for checking out cracks and crevasses in the creekbed.
