What year was the holey dollar that I think it was TonzNz found in Dunedin at St Kilda beach?

1813. It was described as an 1813 dump rather than a holey dollar tho.

Oh ok, it was the dump not the holey dollar. I couldnt remember but knew it was one of the two. Thanks for that.

My oldest coin is my 1834 William the IIII six pence:

found it on a beach so it is a little worn.

I reckon it'd be good luck if they last 50 years...Mind you, the plastic monopoly notes in circulation now will probably go as long as the Roman coins.

I'm still trying to crack the 1900 mark in NZ, but it's out there somewhere in amongst the tear tabs and sinkers...

Some very nice loose change on display here. Keep 'em coming.

Second hunt with my XP Deus and I found the most badly damaged unidentifiable coin out, cleaned it and in the right light you can see the bust shape and on the front the Britannia kind of.. date under bust is 18XX and can see a little of the writing around the bust. It's a george the III halfpenny.. only years they made them in 1800's was 1806 and 1807 .. new oldest coin for me :)

Howdy all,I have been finding the detecting a bit harder lately and on top of that the beaches are crowded,so I dragged out a few of my older coins and did a bit of reminiscing, but I am a bit confused the two copper coins in the pics both have inverted sides now I know the duller of the two is a cartwheel penny, but the other is slightly smaller and has a serrated edge but is larger than a normal penny.although both are hard to make out any details, they both appear to mirror each other?.The other silver coin I have dated as an 1825 King George 1V Halfcrown, the strange thing is it also has inverted sides the same as a cartwheel penny...anyone have any thoughts...The cartwheel and the Half crown both came from the same park here in Tauranga....thanks jim
