Hi Cavey

A very interesting question.

I have spoken to DOC Queenstown about this matter, but have yet to recieve a definitive answer back from them, knowing & having to deal with DOC regarding Consents I think some areas could go either way.

eagle:

i'm not sure how the permit sysytem works with the public areas doc has under the crowns minerals thing.

a while back (maybe 2 or 3 years) when i used to look at the crown minerals site quite a bit, the doc sites had actually all expired. was wondering at the time what was going on, eventually all got renewed.

i guess the current permit holder has right of renewal, and perhaps there was a bit of a processing lag to get it all renewed?

simon.
