So I am back posting my finds again as I am now having the time to get back out there and hunt :). My misses just had a baby so things have been crazy for a while...

So the last hunt with the kids gave me 3 gold rings and my oldest silver ever... but this year seems to be the year of the gold rings for me as I just found another!

This ring is similar to the last ring I found as it is an odd karat... 17karat to be exact... the last one was 15k... what is with all these weird karated rings? well I am not complaining :).

When I started out detecting I felt a little demoralized when a kid came over to me and told me that a guy had been there last week and found a pocket spill of over $20 in $1 and 2$ coins... but just 2 minutes later I got a 10 cent piece tone and pulled out the gold ring! it has a "705" mark on it and I had to look it up to see what it was.

Congrats on the new baby - hope all are well.
The odd karats are old gold.
15k finished in 1931. Don't know about 17k but someone here will.
Look forward to pics.

Only had a quick hunt today :(... but as tomorrow is my day off I hope to get a good solid 3-4 hour hunt :D!!!!

so for the 30-45 min hunt that I had today I ended up with mostly coins! and one nice 3p with a young Victoria on it sadly I can't make the date out :/. Another non-silver 3p and several 1 cent pieces. And a well worn Elizabeth farthing.

And a filling... lol

Congrats to you and your lady.
Are you a regular beach hunter, cause thats where most of the gold rings seem to turn up.
Happy hunting

yup... the all seem too... except the big mens rings... they ring up as nickel in the 40's.... but this target's id was off due to the mineralization in the soil... was ringing in the 50's
