hi to all in nz,the weather is warming up here people are starting to hit the beaches ,looking forward to a bit of the good stuff,got a 9ct mans ring today looks old but not more than 3 inches down at the low tide mark,good luck to you all cheers roy

That ring would be an old drop that has been uncovered by erosion at the spot you found it. And if there was one there will be others. Get back out there before it starts to sand in again! :)
