I don't have sky, but a friend of mine has, and mentioned a show he saw advertised about detecting.
Any info on that?

National Geographic - Diggers

I like it, even if they are a bit over the top.

You can find the episodes of the first season at Fanstash.eu - If you go through Billionuploads you can download instead of stream.

Those guys on diggers are annoying, too over the top. They just about orgasm after finding a god damn penny. Not even a really gd penny at that!

I Think American Diggers became Savage Family Diggers.
Haven't seen any of the American Diggers episodes and a few of the Savage family diggers but in the respects of metal detecting, Diggers is far better.

I can't get over how their AT's beep all the time even though they are wearing headphones. If mine did that it would be sent straight back to Garrett for warranty work!
(Just joking - I know the sounds been dubbed in.) But as a detecting show they are one of the better ones so long as you can get past their made up detecting language (nectar, juice etc) that bugs me a lot more then their over the top actions. If somebody said to me "look at that bit of nectar!" they will quickly be wearing my scoop.

American Diggers and the newer one American Savage is a load of garbage. The star is Rick Savage who used to be one of those WW wrestlers and the show is as realistic as his wrestling was and his missus is one scary chick!.

Who believes they were looking for a gold coin specifically and just so happen to find one in that tiny rectangle?

Funny you should mention it, I was reading up somewhere else about this show. Someone said that it was almost canned after the second episode due to history buffs complaining about numerous aspects of the show and lack of genuine finds and it was more likely that the following shows were somewhat staged (something was planted, they still had to 'find' it) or they would be reenacting the highlights from legitimate findings.

I think they over-act it. And they made up their own Detecting Dictionary to try and 'sell' it as real to the less informed.

Either way, we can't really see what happens before the cameras start recording, or how long they're recording for, or what's happening behind them. It is reality TV though, an industry filled with and created by some of the worlds leading con-artists.

There are other shows that feature Metal Detecting too; Dig Wars, Meteorite Men, Savage Family Diggers to name a few.. Other shows you might be interested in; Gold Rush, Bering Sea Gold, Gold Fathers, Yukon Gold, Ice Cold Gold, Gold Diggers, Jungle Gold, Lost Treasure Hunters.. And I'm sure there's more!

Warning though, Jungle Gold is really, really bad.

Anybody got a streaming link to the Lost Treasure Hunters? I have only ever managed find S01E01 Diamond Fever.

Other similar shows are off course Mud Men and Time Team UK (don't bother with the US version) both can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/user/rszaaijer/videos

I'd like to feature on an episode of "Hagley Sovereign", if that's all right with the rest of you.
