anyone have a spare 8 inch frisbie they dont want
can be used for a coil bottom cover to prevent scratching the coil
if need be add a few plastic ties to it to keep it secure..then in times of shingle on the beach you can use it to push over the top of the shingle to detect and not scratch your coils
just an idea
:-)

In one of the links Shilo posted for home made metal detectors they use the Frisbee to house the coil.
Get a glow in the dark one, go for a night hunt and freak out some onlookers!

Yeah but I wouldn't want to detect around any playful dogs!

"Fetch boy, Go fetch! :)"

Only beware that if you do use a coil cover like a frisbee then make sure you take it off after a hunt and clean out any sand or dirt. If it contains any minerlisation then this will effect your depth and may cause falsing.

I coat my coils and the Pro-pointer with Plasti - Dip (or Liquid Tape) and it works well so long as it is brought up the sides to avoid any peeling off. Have re-coated the AT Pro's once this year but the coil gets a lot of abuse with the pumice sand.
