Interesting stuff. I esp like the pic of the guy with a gold detector. must have awesome depth lol.

the one question that springs to mind is would you not look for disturbed ground in a project like. i know it's mostly mud but surely you could tell if this had been excavated previously.

and that leads to another question. why would the gold get buried so deep? you would expect to be able to return to recover it at some point?!

perhaps there has been a landslide over the site since burial?

of most interest is how quickly higher powers that be shut down the project. albeit an illegal dig the guy did have permission from local powers.
you would think perhaps someone has interests at a national level that doesn't want this gold discovered or this topic to gain popularity amongst it's people.

i would love to know more about the guy's satellite imagery and reasoning to lead him to dig this.
