Hi I will be coming over to NZ in a few month's time and would like to purchase a detector for my Grandson who always has his nose to the ground looking for objects. He is 12 years of age so I would be looking at the Bounty Hunter IV or something similar. Hope you can advise.

Me eldest daughter is 11 and finds heaps of coins on the ground just by sight. Funny but a bit frustrating when you haven't found any yourself..
Anyway I'd say the Fisher F2 would be a good choice, you would need to arrange it earlier and have an address to have it sent to. You'd be looking at NZ$350. You might find one second hand $250(if you're lucky) - $300 as they hold there value so well.

Even though Bounty Hunter / Teknetics / Fisher are of the same family the BH or Teknetics aren't that well known, bit of a shame especially on the Teknetics side.

Thanks for your quick response. I have been looking on the Net for a few days now and received a response from a company called puiakisupply regarding the Fisher F2 so I will contact them again to see what needs to be done to purchase online before I leave the UK. Regards jaymeer

Well I have nothing to do with Puiaki Supply and highly recommend them.
Three good reasons.
1 - Price
2- Warranty
3 - Dealer has an active interest in the hobby. Doesn't just troll this site for sales. (Well not all the time) *8^)

Yeah, I really need to work on my trolling... I also need to get out and do some detecting. I am going through withdrawals, you can only live vicariously through other for so long :)

OK. went out for about 30 minutes this afternoon and found a penny, a half penny, a very worn Victoria shilling and a dollar. So I am feeling much better now. I know everyone was concerned...

Is your grandson already in NZ or coming with you? Where are you arriving? AKL or CHC?
