Running ur detecctor over them would be a good way to get ur pellets out of them too save lead poisoning, not that u should be using lead shot if ur near a river.
And now....On sandy beaches and muddy soil, rings and coins await my coil!

hatter i think youll find its steel shot now, not lead, less accurate, less knock down power, ie more injured animals,
thanks DOC

Hi zimbo, now that's a nice haul! I didnt end up with any. Missed two. I was getting slightly aggravated while watching the ducks all pouring into the neighbours ponds... lol.
Anyway, you did a lot better than me :)
Cheers

Well I hope the bloke who got all those parrys didnt waste one of them. To us it is criminal to shoot what you cannot use except rabbits and even then I use as many as I can cope with.
I have never missed a season for forty five years (with a licence that is) and have never shot a limit bag yet but could have many hundreds of times. I sit down and pluck and clean them as I get them and knock off shooting as soon as I get what I want for myself and to give away.
Had a fair few this year but my young son is beating me...for the first time ever. He also bet my father who just bought himself a new gun at age 86!

So many young people now think that food comes from supermarkets.
What happens when they get a ripper earthquake and suddenly the supermarket aint open no more?
Hunters/gathers are survivors.

I like that - been hunting and fishing all my life though my fishing techniques are... primitive. As for hunting I am never without my heater - always got my rifle with me in my vehicle - I suppose thats the good side of having your own place, you can combine hunting and gold mining. If I am not onto the gold or feel like a break I can go for a wander to see if I can see a pig or salivate a few rocks with lead...keep the detector poachers occupied wasting their time digging up spent projectiles!

...and I had duck for tea tonight!
