Well done Steve. Great reward for all your effort, 23 grams, nice one. What better way to while away some weekend time than with your missus panning some gold. A lot of blokes partners arent in to the gold thing, lucky for you & me that ours are. My first wife wasnt, maybe thats why she aint my wife any more.

Happy hunting

JW :)

Hi Pete, yep have used my highbanker there, the pic of my mrs and dog was taken just before xmas, very little water in the creek now.

I live about 200 ks west of sydney, and about 50ks north of bathurst the place where they have the car race on the mount each year.

cheers steve

Great going - I have a soft spot for fine gold - all I had for years was nuggety stuff as our claims had nothing fine really in them and in order to get some fine stuff I had to buy some from Canvastown and later on went to Lindis to get more.
I certainly like your 23 grammes - it is a great reward for your patience and a great way to spend a day.

nice work on the fines. you must have a lot of patience to recover with just the trusty old pan.

i spent a few summers when i started out sluicing fine gold and know how careful you need to be to recover the stuff without losing it.

that was how i got good at setting up my sluicebox correctly. each day the river would go up and down so the water wasn't a constant flow by any means. kept you on your toes.
