Now that you have removed the lead go back and have another look as gold rings can be found in the same area due to both metals being heavy.

Worth a try I reckon.

Thats a sh1tload of sinkers! I have the F2 and a goldbug but the F4 should be about the same. Gold rings etc show up on most detectors around the pulltab range. Probably about 25 to 39 on your target I.D.
Test it with your wedding ring if you have one or someone elses and see.
That's the reason it's harder to find gold jewellery than silver as the noone likes digging pulltabs and foil!
If you dig every signal between 25 and 50 say, then you would eventually get some gold.
I think most would agree?

Yup, but I would go even higher and lower in the range. Any good clean signal below what a $2 coin sounds like and above iron has a chance of being gold, the VDI all depends on its carat, metal mix, size and shape. For example a 10-15g 375 (9ct) ring will have a fairly high VDI because of its large size and amount of copper in the mix. But a high carat ring of only 1-2g will have a low VDI.

If the spot you found the sinkers is also a popular swimming spot then I would dig EVERY clean sounding signal above iron as there will be gold there. If you start finding pull tabs below the high tide mark on a beach move elsewhere as that area will only contain other light targets. Where there are sinkers most of the light targets like pull tabs should have washed away and any non-ferrous targets are likely to be either lead, brass or precious metal.

I use f4 bro...gold will be low like shitty pulltabs and 5c coin signals. Lead sinkers always high as decent lumps...

Sinkers arent that bad. I collect the homemade ones, and also check that the round ones have a hole in them, if they dont, they may be a musket ball/bullet.
Just weighed, I have 20 kilos of them.
