That is kind of awesome!

"Only detects large items of metal at close range"

So it is kind of like the elephant gun of metal detectors, I am tempted to get one.

Was it Chrissyboy who had the lunch box detector? Think he actually did ok with it.

This probably wouldn't be much better than using the metal detector apps on your smart phone.
It's just to show how the principal works - might find a shallow buried car.
Would still be fun to construct anyways.

Gold nuggets in Canterbury? Maybe south Canterbury.

I wasn't being serious at all. I thought by saying gold nuggets in canterbury that it would be obvious. :)
Yeah, it was shane or his bro crissyboy who had the lunchbox detector and they did pretty good with it too.
I make a lot of electronic kits etc so might have a play with a detector circuit one day.

Some of these - especially the PI ones will be able to find those Canterbury nuggets.

Originally I was going to say Nuggets in Canterbury, yes but most likely at the homes of the forum members!

Was watching a vid of a home made PI detector by some Aussie guys, they were doing very well at the beach finding gold rings.
Is actually some blue sky here so here's hoping, might just be able to get a hunt in myself!
