I am getting over the flu tonight but could be keen tomorrow if you are free? I have a few other places nearby also that may warrant a look.

Well done

For those of us who haven't got quite the right gear yet, could you please tell me what detector, how it did identifying the targets, and how much trash the setting required you to dig? Would love to see photos of the finds.

I will be taking out a goldseeking PI to test out in Hagley in couple weeks but probably will find too much trash. Not above updating from ace150 for winter parks as well.. maybe a goldbug pro, atpro, or 705 would do both gold and relics if they all have target id number?

You really need to use something with pinpoint capability in parks, or you end up digging trenches to find the object. That's fine out in the bush hunting for nuggets, but in parks, it gets us all into trouble.

Detector with pinpoint, followed by a pinpointer while digging is the way to go.

Welcome Mark. I'm sure someone will take you up on that. What detector do you use and what's your best find so far?

Looking at maybe Brighton in the morning,( low tide around 8am I think). I'll be just north of the pier if you keen.
