I wonder how much it would cost to hire our own 4WD, research a site and get out there ourselves?

I couldn't make the trip until Winter 2011 anyway, so not upset that this year's booked out. Also, such a trip would require some careful planning, so the extra time is an advantage. Yes, it is a bit expensive, but again, with the added lead-in time to plan means we should be able to put a bit away each month to cover the cost. I think it would be fantastic fun and enormously exciting to go with a similar minded bunch of guys from NZ and really get to know each other and learn, first hand of their experiences and to learn new ways of fossicking for the yellow stuff!
