has anyone given the central nth island area a go, gold has been recovered just noth of taupo at ohakuri but i have also heard some gold has been recovered near tokanau (sp) southern end of lake taupo.

most deposits there are geothermal and i understand gold is being made in the hot water spring sites.

anyone know of any info on this area?

next time im in taupo area i may look at goin bush, but not in the boiling water?
