You will find if you put a tap inline in the water line going to the heat exchanger, you will be able to regulate the water flow
to suit the coldness of the water. Real cold water in creek/river cut flow down. That way you get hotter water.

Glad to see you have a delivery chamber so you dont get scalded. Cant see in the pic, but where is the connection that you plug
your wet suit delivery hose into. Hope its not at the top. As we all know steam rises. And believe me, you will from time to time get blockages
in the system. And steam out. I made a chamber that was foolproof. And gives you heaps of warning if indeed you do have a blockage.
The water just starts to get hotter, and gives you plenty of time to unplug. I had my inlet hose attached to the wetsuit. Cut a slit in it, inserted hose,
then sealed with wetsuit glue. The hose was attached by stitching it with a bit of mono filiament. It hung down like a tail. Easy to reach
if you need to unplug, the delivery hose was just pushed onto a tailpiece. If you just bang it down the neck of the wetsuit, it keeps getting pulled out, and its damm hard to reach for a quick disconnect. Esp if you are using air, hoses everywhere.

you got a filter on the inlet to the chamber? or is the filter the brass bit at the pump?
also the tap as hatter mentioned are a must as my HWS with unregulated water flow barely heat the water, I slow it right down and heat the water really hot then I have another tap plumbed into mixing chamber I add cold water to it so if something happens theres always some cold going in. a filter is fairly important will stop exchanger blocking/ restricting flow and also sux pumping grit into your wetsuit allday and ending up with full body chaf :(

Good link Zimbo, the photo of the guy with bad burns and story about skin grafts etc should be a salutary warning to anyone doing a home made heat exchanger as to what can happen. NUGGY
