Was wondering if anyone could tell me if its possible to find out contact details for permit owners ? There's a few places I wouldn't mind having a look at that are either already permitted or access to there is though someone's permit?im guessing that the larger permit holders will tell me to piss off but are the smaller permit holders approachable ?
Also what's the differance between a mining permit and a prospecting permit ? Do they both mean you can't legally look for gold there?
Sorry for all the questions I'm sure they have been covered before but couldn't find them in the search
Thanks in advance
Mahuta

mahuta,

if a permit of any sort exists this does not mean you can't be there is person. whether passing through, or standing by watching someone mine or whatever. unless it is private land. so say someone is dredging on doc land - their permit does not exclude you from being there.

there are a few types of permit - mining, exploration etc. whatever type it is it means you can't fossick there. unless they let you but then again you're not meant to fossick anywhere outside the little areas that are set aside as public fossicking areas.
