would it be worth hitting a local beach with my gold bug, and if so is there any specific ground balancing techniques to use.. :)

Hi I use my gold bug down at the beach. I run it in all metal mode gain set about 12 o, clock and threshold about 1 keep ground balancing as you get closer to the water. The balance will be near 0 at the water's edge

lol ...thank you gaurdian i was just going to say that same thing again...i have never had a problem when balancing in this manner..

ya you might get the odd bit of chatter but nothing un bearable...and when you get use to setting it just right you can detect for a good long time down at the beach... and as bedrock said you will have to adjust to the type of beach sand you are on....but allways ground balance in the wet sand first.
