It's true we all hate finding 1c 2c pieces. I like pennies though so how about covering your floor or bench with them, ok these designers buy the coins by the roll, wouldn't they appreciate them so much more if they found them themselves?

Yes it looks great and I know for certain that many properties get burgled for the copper spoutings - even the old Dunedin prison someone tried to flog the copper downpipe so I believe - once they heard that you had a copper carpet then you would might lose it - while you are away on holiday someone could be happily chiseling up the copper carpet!

Methinks it would be cheaper to cash in the pennies for scrap value then use the money to buy a Shagpile carpet after all I can only assume that type of carpet got its name for the nefarious things you can do on it and try those nefarious things on a heap of pennies and you wont try it again! Shagpile carpets are far less likely to get chiseled up and stolen especially 'used' ones.

I saw a coffee table with glass on the top and pennies (I spelt pennies wrong and my filthy minded spell check wanted to put in another word!) all laid under the glass - was kinda awsum! The lady who owned it wouldnt let me swipe the pennies though which I thought was a bit mean.

Hi Graeme

Even closer to home (over your back fence) the year before last, some sod nicked the copper downpipes.
I like the idea of a penny coffee table, that would be very cool, might just have to start something like that. Thanks for the idea!

Would look great in my man cave/hovel/den whatever they are called these days.

Saw this a while ago: http://blogs.cincysavers.com/diy-pennies-to-projects-a-new-table-in-8-steps/

Was thinking a coffee table onlayed with pennies done in the design of a Tui would look great! Bar top grade epoxy is easy to find to put over the top. But can't be bothered so to the scrap merchant they will go (when I get around to it).

Call and see me and say gidday - I have heard of musical chairs but musical houses seems a bit ridiculous - I got me another metal detector though you might know by now. An F2 to go coin hunting with and I am quite pleased with it.

Thats the idea but the one I saw illustrated had nice wooden sides, Jarra or Mahogany and really looked great.
