Hay fella Goldie's
me and the wife splashed out on an old van and hit the road from Blenheim to Collingwood to check out the gold fields after a bit of a read about the history and what the ociana and the aussies are up to in that area we went for a nosey
after we got board, we headed up to Collingwood were we spent the night in the bush it was warmer than we expected in the back of the van
after a 3 hour walk into the aurora gold fields and the caves area we got busy although their was a bit of sign up their I wouldn't waist my time it was a nice view and a good walk but nothing to get excited about we are planning a few nice trips over the winter to gold country and a return trip to Howard valley
and then over to the coast can anyone help us out with a nice river to run the sluice for a day or too we are not big time just a pan and a sluice just for fun its always good to see a shine in the pan jd

hey guys, when your in Collingwood have a prospect on the aorere. danny walker has a claim there between the aorere bridge and james bridge in bainham. he has said small time prospectors like us are welcome to make our fortune, but no pumps only sluice and pan. ive been sluicing by gillies road where it meets the river and have found good size flakes, from a matchhead size to a couple of flakes the size of 3 matchheads. ive been digging between the sandstone rocks in the crevices etc. good luck maybe give me a buzz when your here, im only young but have a very keen interest in gold and this area. good luck
