Yeah milk tokens, you used to put them in your milk bottle at the gate for the milk man to deliver your milk . If you put money out rascals would pinch it over night and you would not have any fresh milk for breakfast.

I remember (just) the white plastic milk tokens very disheartening for the neighborhood kids looking for an easy 50c mixture.

I found an Aussie water token about a month back.

But in gold, rather than inflatable fiat money, the lolly is the same price :)

Yeah in the day when the diary guy individually counted out the lollies so $2 of the fizzy 1 lollies was my favorite trick, can still remember the salt&pepper haired man with his bushy mustache. No doubt swearing under his breath at me. Well worth the belly ache

Yup- different designs, markings and even shapes and materials for different areas. The ones I remember were aluminium with a M or something stamped out in the middle of them.

Of course in those days the milk containers were made of glass and the cows weren't. Seems Anchor has got that the wrong way around now...

Damn it Lachie, I have happily thrown away dozens of those things... and they are not copper or brass so they did not go into the scrap buckets. Now I feel like a freaking idiot.

They were originally made of copper but then like everything else the quality declined and they issued plastic ones
