hi there im all new to the gold hunting thing.. and am very interested i am from rotorua and am wanting to no is there anywhere i can take the kids panning for gold?
please could someone help me out thankyou :)

Hi Antz,

I don't really want to discourage you too much, but unless you already know how to pan for gold, you won't find any on the Coromandel. You need to spend a bit of time separating south island gold from gravel to see how it behaves and to be able to recognize it.
Coromandel gold is harder to separate from the clay and gravel matrix in which it is usually found, probably because it is far more irregular in shape. It is therefore easier to expel it from the pan, along with unwanted material, while panning.
