Anyone come across anything like this before?! New one for me - curious if it works well!

gavin, i first saw these several years ago and would love to know the results of anyone with one.

my problem is i only have one microwave. and i'm sure not allowed to conduct such experiments in the kitchen and in the kitchen microwave.

and i've never got hold of an old one. if they are good i would get a spare microwave.

Given the dangers of high power microwaves (boiling the water in your eyes in short time, or the family jewels) I'd be looking more at small inductive heater kilns, for the quantity of gold we tend to deal with.

Building one is on my to-do list, but a fair way down it.

Probably borax is involved. You can buy it in small quantities at Bin Inn store, in the cleaning depts. No idea if their price is a good deal or not.

I put in a quick post but did not look at the link. ceramic kits do not work.
they are to fragile to do metal in.
this is the link to the kit that I am working with.
I have had an email back from them and know the mix , i was checking against the issues of getting it into the country
and that it needed a description.

micro furnace

If you watch the vid you will see the whole process. no need for mercury with this system.

IF IT WORKS> HAHA

cheers
