just a quick question for the more experienced fossickers. when you pan/sluice the danseys area do you have more success if you dig deep or just scoop off the top layer of sand and sluice it. had a wee bit of luck down there but still very little for a days work. thought maybe i'm doing it wrong.

got very little. maybe a matchhead worth. but still better than I did at the shamrock fossicking area and a lot less travelling.

I havent been up the danseys for a couple of years, got ok colour just doing quick pans off the surface gravel in cracks, I hope to get back up that way during the middle of winter, hope to come back with all of my fingers!

I will definitely be going back within the next few weeks for a last hunt before winter really sets in. weather was pretty good last weekend and water wasn't too cold.
