I've been trying to school myself up in preparation for buying my first metal detector. Principally I'll be treasure hunting, but may try some gold prospecting in the course of time. I don't want to waste money on el cheapo equipment that I'll be wanting to replace in the near future so I'm considering a Fisher F75 with 11"DD and 5" coils, but a hell of a lot of amateur reviewers, particularly on American websites, are vociferous in their advice that the F75 is not a good choice for beginners. What do Kiwi F75 owners think? Can the F75 be handled by a "reasonably intelligent" Kiwi newbie?

yes it sure can, there is alot to learn on it..but can be handled by begginers easy...you learn as you go..i have only used one a few times and
it was confusing at first but as you get use to it things get easyier...you put it on the all metal setting and turn sencativity to about 60 and away you go...you will dig most things at first but once you get use to the signals and the numbers you will soon learn what mostly to dig and what to ignore..

Now im not just saying this because i sell them...i only coment on ones i have used or have seen in action by others.
