i want to see the eagle in the pan!, dont give up gingerbreadman you can do it!, have you put your photos in photobucket?, its quiet an easy process.

Gavin as you seem quite a techie person, you should put up a post with step by step instructions on how to post photos from photobucket, as going through the paydirt site results in the photos being to small.

mind you i havent seen many photos posted by gavin either?

I sent gingerbreadman a PM with my email address so he can email me the photo and I'll upload it for him.

Photobucket - never used it myself, looks pretty self-explanatory from what I can see. When I get some spare time I would like to add a FAQ page which will include things like uploading photos (as I don't think it's the most intuitive process!). I also want to upgrade the forums to the latest version of software, but will take a bit of time as will need to give a good test first. Would hate to do quick upgrade any cause issues as lots of users to upset if it goes wrong.

Not really had many photos worth uploading myself, but will shortly as soon as I get them off my mates camera... Bush gimps - some amusing photos of me and a mate dressed up in our surf wetsuits to explore up a gorge. And also some some nice piccies of the gold we found to post (once I clean it up). About bloody time I found some decent gold! :P

I must admit that this thread has made me feel really good about my efforts to put a photo onto this site...I couldnt even get as far as uploading it into the computer or editing it let alone get it in here.

I also like what you say about never getting sick of looking at your gold - the best fun I have ever had is never looking a tmy nuggets when I have them home from safe deposit but looking at what fine gold I have under a stereo microscope - I perve at it and perve at it some more and then I perve at it again. Yes I agree with you - you never tired of looking at gold...especially your own gold.

I first use a program called VSO Image resizer to decrease the pics from high quality (also large mb size) and I find the size 600x800 is good for forums. It's newer free version is here ---> http://www.obviousidea.c...are/light-image-resizer/

Basically it's good for trademe and sharing forums as an original photo that is high pixle is usually around 2mb but once VSO Image resizer makes a copy of it, you can choose any size output and the actual sze of the copy of the original photo decrease's to around 170kb, but the quality is still very viewable. You don't lose the original by using VSO

I use photobucket too and it's brilliant for storing photos that may otherwise be lost if a PC crashes and you have no good backup of photos.

in the photobucket site its easy to upload photos then when you decide to share on on a forum like this there is a wee link that you use to copy the "URL" of the photo. It's called "direct Link" on the photobucket site.

then in these forums you simply click on the add image button and it gives you these tags ((img][/img)) It's inbetween these tags that you would paste the image "URL" or "Direct Link"

this would look similar to this ----> ((img]http://www.yadayadayada.img[/img ))
