Being a shift worker sure has its benefits......Went to the Silver Mine during the day & scored the two florins, shilling and a silver earring + $15 spendys then hooked up with Foiled after work at Little Hagley for the other stuff, Really stoked to get my second gothic florin dates 1875, The silver medallion has something to do with Queen Victorias diamond jubilee as has june 20 1897 & a small NZ on the other side, The other silver badge with cba or bca I wouldnt have a clue about any ideas? Anyway great day/night theres plenty still out there even in Little Hagley!

Hey coinnut....congrats on your latest finds. The Gothic Florin is a beauty, as is the amazing little medallion.
Here's a bit of info for you about the medalette from the pages of Leon Morel's "Medallic Commemorative s of NZ" (see pics);

Your silver version will depend on the diameter.......either 23.5mm or 21mm.
R3 = Neither common nor scarce. R4 = Scarce
Current market value is around $80NZD............A bloody nice find mate!

Would love to know more about the CBA badge....it looks pretty amazing too!

Thanks for that Num. 8, my one is the 23.5mm, the CBA badge from what I've managed to work out was made by Moller & Young who have been around for 100yrs or so & still trading in Rangiora, I've been told it might be Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
