hi guys just bought a Garrett AT pro off a guy on here, and within the first hour of detecting. i found 2 little bits of gold, first piece weighs 0.13 of a gram and second bit was 0.15 of a gram, i was very surprised it picked up such small targets of gold one was basicly on top of sand stone. and the other was about 1-2 inches deep on top of sand stone i think they gave me a number of 35 i might be wrong tho . im very pleased with myself as i havnt done much detecting before now. i had a minelab ureka gold awhile back but had no luck and didnt really know how to use it. the AT pro is so basic in its settings and i think im really going to enjoy it. i had to dig some horrible sounding targets just to see what they were, a few nails. fencing wire and bucket handles.

They are good machines especially as they aren't gold machines, I just got one last week. The iron audio is good. Well done!

That's great going especially if it has its standard coil. Make sure you use Pro Mode right from the start, if gives so much more info and detects fainter targets then the standard mode.

Really with the 11"dd - you're a legend! I already have an AT GOLD with the 8x5" coil and really for the goldfields I think it is to big, you can't get it between rocks very easily. I got the AT PRO for an amazing price the only thing that tricked me was with the bigger coil on the AT PRO 1c pieces sounded like a deeper $1/shilling coin so I dug more than usual. The 11" Coil is awesome even though it's a bit more taxing on the arm when you're used to the smaller coil but that wont take long to overcome.

I'm not sure why they can't combine the 2 machines - AT GOLD has no notch
AT PRO hasn't got true All Metal Mode or threshold
Surely they could have a frequency shift built into the AT GOLD to make it usable at the beach ah well guess it's all marketing.

Still I have two machines I can't easily drown so that's the big plus!
