It is indeed a lovely nugget but I note that a section of it is cracked - because gold is so malleable it wouldnt break off unless monstored but it still seems to mar the looks - I had a similar nugget with the same fault many years ago and it did indeed break off so that would put me off buying the Trademe nugget but it was nice to see it.

As for beating it - you decide. There is one difference though - the one the photo will never come up for sale in my life time whereas the Trademe one is - I shall watch with interest to see if it sells.

There are several chaps on this site or who troll this site who do have large nuggets which beat the Trademe one and it will be interesting to see if more come out of the woodwork.

its a nice nugget but abit over priced, i heard of a guy recently had 4ozs of nuggets for sale for $10k and one of them was a 2ozer so to pay $10k for a 2oz nugget is probly $4-$5k over priced in my opinion. i wish i could show a better one but i cant lol. your nugget looks like a awesome shape and very shiney lustre :)

I also agree that it is over priced and hence my comment about 'I shall watch with interest to see if it sells' because to be quite honest I dont think it will - If he had started low I would not have been surprised if a couple of keen punters pushed each other up to maybe $8000 max.
