I wish I could show you pictures of the huge nuggets I found up the Howard today but I cant.
I've been in Nelson 7 years now and have never actually got of my arse and been for a squint at a public area so today was the day.
Detector and crevicing gear in,off we go.Now I don't know how many of you are familiar with the Porika Track to get up to the creeks, bit rough but not too bad, then there is a side track that follows the power lines.
Word of warning-the innocent looking tiny creek crossing that track isn't all it seems.

Bastard thing is just that horrible sticky thick mud that's about a foot deep AND hides the ruts that go another foot down.

Took me 6 hours to dig the truck out of the shit with the only digging tool I had with me,a fkn garden trowel...

Moral of the story-mud tyres on the truck and a spade in the back!
