A very dear friend of mine passed away today. Many of you will have known Allan & you may have bought some mining gear from him over the years. He was bringing in Proline dredging gear & also the chinese motors plus numerous other stuff.
Allan had been battling a brain tumour for the last few years. It slowly took his breath away & today was his last. On the forums he went by the avatar of Fudnz & on trademe as Snuffy. We spent many a day up the Kyeburn, German Creek, the Hogburn just to name a few places. Spent many a day detecting up in the mountains. Allan shared my wife & mines wedding day up in Skippers seven years ago.
My wife & I paid him a final visit on saturday evening. He didnt know we were there but we talked to him, held & rubbed his hand & baid him farewell amongst tears & thoughts of the good times we spent together.
He will be sadly missed. Rest in peace my dear friend & leave some nuggets for me in the great goldfield in the sky.

Allan Dunford

Truly sad and sorry for the loss of your close friend kiwijw. I didn't have the privilege of knowing him but I am in no doubt that he was certainly a true gentleman and a genuine lifetime friend.
Trust me when I say that I'm positive he would have known you were there at his side on Saturday night, having been through similar circumstances with a close friend myself. He would have felt every loving memory shared, and in his own way, reminisced with you about all those great times together. Gone but never forgotten.

Allan was a really nice guy -one of nature's gentlemen-he taught me how to sluice and many other things. My condolences to his family. I wont forget him.

Thanks for your post kiwijw. Allan, as it has been said above, was a true gentleman. Between him and Sean (LepreSean), they both got me hooked on gold back in the early 90's as a youngster up the Hogburn in Naseby (hence my avatar "Hogburn")! RIP Allan.
