Hey, thinking of doing some weekend sluicing around the Dunedin area, heard there may be gold in Post Office creek near Waikouaiti or in the river near Bucklands crossing?

Anybody heard of or personally prospected these areas, or any near Dunedin?

Post Office Creek is more or less accounted for I think and in any case every person and his dog has or did head up thataway.

Bucklands Crossing and surrounds have been well searched over the years but can still yield a few colours to those with the patience and perseverance to look. Last time I was there I found entirely nothing but when I first went there got a few isolated colours.

It was told me many moons ago by my goldmining partner that there was gold in the Leith and I have no doubt that he was correct even though the geology is not conducive to it. He came form an old gold mining family and did know what he was talking about.

He also mentioned a spot not far from Evansdale where gold had once been mined and also inland again beyond that.
