Well had my first trip gold hunting and here are a few pics of what robert and i got.... Robert got 4.40 grams detecting and i got 1.17 grams panning...cant wait till i get another detector...i want nuggets like he got..lmao..but am very pleased with what i got.

nice gold and all reasonable size must be a good area to be able to get that in a pan

Kiwikeith , Robert was using his F75 detector hence he got the bigger nuggets in picture 4... we have a returning invatation to the place so once i get another detector i will be up there with it...but very happy with my results.

Chris - That gold has a particular sort of a colouration to it and I think I know where you found it - I might go and have a look myself this weekend coming up!

thank you guys, yup enjoying it for sure gavin...went for another wee hunt today with gingerbreadman.didnt get alot but as far as im concerned every spec counts..lol..

Yes Lammerlaw i am sure you are right as to where i got it..lol...hope you find heeps this weekend..wish i could join you this weekend but i guess since i got in the door here,unloaded the truck then left the wife and her mom here while i took off for four days right after moving in , i guess i better stay home..lol.

anyone heading out gold panning this week i would sure love a tour and a chance to find some kiwi gold im in CHCH for a week visiting family, i do a lot of gold prospecting and detecting back home in australia. i even bought a pan with me but not to sure where ta go.
