Hi ya fella goldies
The waka is like a drug to us being me ,my wife, and the two kids 8 and 9 oh and the dog. We came to the waka over a year ago for the first time and since we have exsplored every inch of the river from pair tree to devels, and all the creeks that run into it we just cant stay away, every bit of time we have spare we at the waka. Now we have moved even closer the river It sure has us under its spell Im sure the minners from the early years fell for it too jd

Yes kiwi we have been around the coast ,slab hut um howard valley etc but we always come back to the waka cullensville is nice too but waka is the best once you get away from the main land and its just native you are in a land all of its own its funny to see the kids and the wife swimming up the creek the dog leads we quiet often have to swim when the bluffs wont let us pass we were up deep creek a month or two back we were all soaked and came across a dredger in the middle of know where he looked a little supprised to see us haha jd

I know what you mean jd-the waka is one of my favourite spots.Just being out there is what its all about-doesnt even matter if I dont get anything.
So much history to the place as well-you wouldnt beleive there were over 6000 men in that valley in 1864...

Hi All
The wakas is awesome I own the claim from just above All Nations up to Dead Horse creek and love it just finished my new 6 inch dredge ready for a crack this weekend just remember to get permission from claim owners first before going up there willy nilly playing around as it is a popular place to go and alot of people getting the fever and the last thing I want is to find 20 people lining the banks in a place that I enjoy my time away from home
