Hmm Make me a handsome offer for the collection of coasters I never knew I owned until I found them a week or two ago!

There is about 115 playgrounds here and I've been to pretty much every one, as I only had the smaller 5x8 coil I stuck to around swings and playground equipment. I'd guestimate on average about $17.50 was pulled from each, in reality some places it was only a few dollars and others in the thirties. The kicker is I hardly found any silvers which was fine as desperate times = horse blinkers and I was gunning for the goldies. Now I have the ATPRO and the 11" Coil I can cover a lot more ground, the target separation just isn't as good with the bigger coil and I find I dig a heap more trash. With the ATGOLD it was much easier (even without using the Iron audio feature) to hear the click-high-click of a bottle cap. Most of the places here have been combed by a few very good detectorists, they may have got the cream but there is still plenty more out there.

Your doing the right thing by giving the grounds a chance to heal - might sound a bit new age but if you go somewhere and get the feeling you shouldn't dig don't, sometimes things aren't meant to be found. I was out detecting early one morning it was a bit misty and cold (it's Dunedin you get that). Found a good signal went to dig and felt something brush me thought it was someones dog, looked around nothing there... Just to play on the story a bit the history of this park suggests lots of goodies as in the past it has been an Army Barracks, a Lunatic Asylum a Cemetery and a School.... If your wondering if I dug that signal of course I did, that's what I was there for and it was a lovely old silver spoon. Like to see a picture? Not going to happen. left all the finds in my sleep out to clean up another day - have never seen it again. Just to put things back into perspective I have 5 kids and things "Vanish" all the time but they usually turn up, not in the case of the mystery silver spoon. Do do do do...

I should try and remind myself not to post when my fuel gauge is below empty... oh well done now.

After a long hunt with Latch we were both surprised that after such an intensive hunt not one silver came to surface for us ~shrug~
We both left with just over $30 each in goldies and some other items of interest. Goldies and a silver sig ring (from previous hunt) were pilfered by the wife so not in pic.

The Pennies are common enough just these were in pretty good condition both in the 1930s will keep cleaning them just because...
Steel ball is heavy could be from a lawn type game, not sure.
2 watches.
What looks like a handle - can picture it painted black and on a door of some sort.
Canon is in pretty bad shape couldn't find the rest of the barrel unfortunately. Wasn't found in the 'hood' so doubt it was sawn off (bad joke).

Thanks GS - I see you have been doing exceptionally well, good on you!

Hey Latch - Yeah that was the first pocket spill of pennies I've found, think there were six in that hole? Good day out especially as you could take your time to dig more of the interesting sounding targets. Will be interesting in future hunts to see how the old At-Pro holds up against the E-trac, as really you were doing pretty well considering it's a new machine. In goldies only a couple in it - even that was funny how it seemed the detecting gods wanted us to take turns in finding them.

Excellant canon find. Shame the barrel is missing but still looks great.

Cheers Shane.
The Canon was a puzzle at first. Found a wheel then then the main unit then the other wheel and a few more pieces of wheel. It was also fun seeing if I could find a picture of the complete machine.
