Well, these are my finds so far this year with the good weather over Summer and plenty of Beach goers depositing their funds

Most of the searches have been either at first light or late when beach goers have gone

Found it interesting New Year morning with about a dozen people there looking for valuables (cellphones etc),had a couple of people ask me if I had found their cellphones they had lost during the night, told them with people looking for gear they would be gone

One Gold(375) a few Silver rings and a bracelet and a couple of Ring Recoveries

Last pic is the recovered ring of last week,9ct, 10 grams Wedding band

Your going real well so far this year Al.
Lots of spendable cash.
I think you have an E Trac is that right?
Well done on the recovery too.

Those settings look worth a try although I have been using similar.
These days I seem to hunt mostly in Quickmask with the amount of screen open
to suit the location and my mood ie: patience with the tear tabs. :-)

Hi Max

Yes you are right on details

90% of my finds are from the Mount main beach using dry sand mining noting where people have frequented during their time on the beach at this time of year

There was a few weeks ago a Easterly swell that removed some sand from the Mount main beach but not much was found due to this
Find the SW wind over a series of days has more effect on sand erosion than anything, this is mainly along the beach South of the Mount

Most mornings during the Holiday period the beach groomer would go through but this does not effect coins or rings, only probably put them deeper in the sand profile(found a Penny that has been there for years last Friday)

Late afternoon/night details target positions and usually find where people take cans of alcohol to the beach not only will you find the cans buried but most times find goodies around where they have been sitting

This will make Max smile on the latest ring recovery, had details past to me from another Tauranga Detectorist who got a call from a person who lost a wedding Ring outside of the Omanu Surf Club
Rang him and was told someone else has had looked with a detector and not found so I said I would look and was found where I was told it was.
Was thanked for finding it and received a sizeable piece of Banana cake to take home(like Banana cake) ,Im happy I could help out
