Rank: Gold Dust Groups: Registered Joined: 3/02/2013(UTC) Posts: 2 Location: dunedin		Hey guys, thought I,d join up and meet the like minded, that gold bug sure is contagious. fairly new to this but golds fascinated me since i was a child, ive been researching the history of otago rush and am inspired by the old timers after roaming some of the areas they would have, being outdoors type it fascinates me how they endured otago weather those many years ago, anyway ive been researching the internet, local librarys and some family members of the old timers for a couple months before meeting up with family friend who took me out metal detecting no gold but we found some interesting items, half dozen lead shots which we were told came from a revolver type weapon and a couple of old coins, while out detecting i panned four shovel fulls of river gravel in one location where i picked up a dozen flakes about 2 weeks ago, so really interested in day trips 1hr/2hrs out of dunedin panning some rivers, anyone interested in meeting up to find gold in and around dunedin. let me know, cheers Edited by user Sunday, 3 February 2013 1:21:59 PM(UTC) \| Reason: Not specified

Anyways welcome to the forum, plenty of great people with a HUGE amount of knowledge.
