Thats brilliant-I was going to start a thread on the very same thing!

One for the top of the south boys-Gold Creek on the Canaan Downs,top of the the Takaka Hill.Sounds promising doesnt it?

After 5 hours scratching and detecting I got nothing,not even a flood speck.On the way back to the car I got talking to a cocky and was informed the reason its called Gold Creek is because the bloke who first farmed around there was called...wait for it... Edgar Gold.

Bugger.
