If they are in good order, I would list them on Trademe to get the best price. Otherwise you could find a local Stamp / Coin shop to see what they will give you. Finally you can get them refined (most gold refiners like Morris & Watson will take silver).

Just so you can work on their value: If all the coins are 1946 or earlier then they will be at least 50% silver and thus contain 2.98oz of silver with a spot value of $107.52. Some like the english 3p (crown ones) and the 6p (lion one) will have a higher silver content.

That value of $107.52 is spot price so you will only get about 2/3rds of that back from a refiner. But it gives you a idea of a reserve price if putting up on Trademe.

Would it be more profitable just getting the silver from them instead of selling? i Also have 2 coins or tokens im sure are worth a bit but need a proper clean and where would you take them? 1st is a 1882 NZinternational exhbidition and the other ia a canterburycentenuary coin 1850-1950 i THINK it gold plated as is gold in color but worn. I have found these on the net too. What would you do

You'l get a far better price for them on TM than you would from a dealer. Especially if you accurately list all the coins out with their dates. You'll likely get close to spot value, or more. TM sale price minus TM charges will certainly be greater than dealer offer price.
