It's my first attempt to really get the much needed sluice box built. It's brand new, still a virgin but will be unleashed on the Tasman area very soon I hope. What I tried to do with this design is find a way to be able to break the sluice down easily for transportation or carrying into areas. The whole lot breaks down and can fit in a large-ish backpack and weighs in at 8.5 KG's. The whole kit can be assembled easily and has been designed to be bulky enough to be used in swifter rivers or with decent sized pump/suction equipment (Highbanker, suction dredge (small). That’s the theory anyway. I just thought I would share and am keen for any comments. All told, Material (Galv. Steel, Rubber matting, Astro Turf) and Labour the beast cost me 280, so it owes me now and I plan to make it pay :)
