Well after much sourcing I have a detector and I believe it now starts.,

Damn, someone must have been there before you garrymac. I'm having the same results on Auckland beaches at present. Must be a bit early in the season.

Hi again, Further to my comment above......I get the strong felling that if you do show something it wont be anything to do with Gold Prospecting, Fossicking or Mining. If that is the case then it belongs in the Show & Tell under Metal Detecting (coins, relics, etc). Thanks
