Thats the spirit, a bit of humour goes a long way. I had to have a chuckle to meself when i read this thread.
Fair enough it is a GOLD forum, times change and this forum has kindly changed with it. I think its well layed out and fail to see any confusion. Im not sure on stats but the short time i have been on here memberships, veiws and responces have gone up increasingly. Hooray for Gavin for including the metal detecting on this forum as someone had too in this country. I dont think we are taking over, we just need somewhere to be. Being a member of this forum has opened up a whole new world for me, i am so grateful.
Our finds are junk mostly but thats what m detecting is and we love it.
GOLD is hard to find but we love it.
Smile fellow fossickers and embrace the joy.

Sorry, for the bunch of post deletes - just trying to clean this thread up a little. Didn't realise there was such a cat fight going on! :P

dredgey's account has now been suspended from using the forums for a week as he was quite out-of-order! Everyone deserves a 2nd chance so not barred him permanently.

Good move Gavin.

My greatest fear is that when I die my wife will sell my collection for what I told her it cost me.

Yeah, was thinking about this but I figured it was a handy link in the first post so still had some value. Was speed reading through posts to try and see what to remove so may have been a bit sloppy.

go gold:

yep, i could see that happening here all right.

i did notice when this forum started the same thing. that was what made me up and leave my original hangout.
while i enjoyed talking to some of the people i ended up mobbed just about on some days, harrassed for info on others. and nothing beats people coming up and diving fingers straight into your sluice box and disturbing any gold.

that said those programs have made an impact here. every nut around is digging bits of the rivers up. you can easily tell those who don't have a clue. just hope this silly season i don't have to carry out more out for help. one heart attack victim is all i need in a lifetime. and i've been there and done that one.
