Heya,
I know most of people think that a diamond ring is a good investment or would be of a high value when found,
The reality - it is not in most of the cases, especially with crap Zew Zealand jewelery

Here is USA based wholesaler with really good calculator :

For example lets have a look at following trademe listing :

it has 1ct diamond ring, valued at 7.7k on sale for 3.5k
it is actually total weight of diamonds and not one diamond 1ct,
there is a sertificate that gives you all details :
Clarity VVS VS
Color F
Cut very good
each diamond is 0.3 ct

so if we use calculator with the above stats : each diamond is about $630.00 * 3 = 1890$USD + about 140$for 4 grams of 18 gold
so total value about 2,329 + 140 = 2470$ for metal and diamond and aas iti s simple ring i doubt the work cost 1000$ to match 3.5 K and obviously not even near 7.7k value!

So lets see diamond wholesale is $890.00 even that it is .5 CT! and gold 14 about 1004 so ttal is about 1.4K value.
