Bloody old english style writing is beyond me haha

Cant be 100% sure, but it looks like ARC which is Auckland Racing Club. I have a similar badge but to the trotting club. The 1st photo is the right way up. Take it to one of the racing clubs (horses) and ask them to verify.

But in saying that plenty have used a rope around the edge such as scouts and Queen Victoria. But maybe its a personal monogram for some posh bastard back in the day! As in "... I am Sir Antony Babbidge of Hertdfordshire and here is my monogrammed badge to show what a twat I am!..." (sorry to lower the tone after a great start!)
