Following on from the great get together by Cluthapete, Anita and I worked our way around Central Otago, we must of panned at least 50 different spots, sluiced some wish we had sluiced others. What a great time we had, found color at most places. Thanks to some forum members for your hot tips.We even found a few good spots of our own, the photo of Anita standing on a shingle bar was a hot spot she found, I was busy getting a pan full of gravel from all the right spots and getting some color. Anita not wanting wet feet moved a stone dug under it washed it and a heap of colour, didnt take me long to move my own stone and I couldnt believe my eyes, each pan full the same, unfortunately we couldnt stay long as we had to rush to get the plane in Dunedin, It was a job to get Anita moving "just one more", normally it is me. She is hooked now. We will be back. All the pan photos are as panned from one scoop of gravel at different locations, Sometimes as much gold as we would get in a good session of sluiceing in Coromandel.

Well done Pete, imagine what you would have collected if you'd had your sluice. What type do you use up north?
